Many of our dogs are waiting
for loving foster homes. Could you be a foster carer?
Where possible we prefer to
place our rescue dogs in foster homes which enables us
to assess how they react to different situations and
work on their house training and socialisation where
required. This also makes the transition for dogs used
to living in a home much less stressful.
We have a network of foster
carers but we are always in need of more volunteers.
We like to have our foster carers within an hours
travel of the Cardiff/Newport or Oxford areas. This
enables us to provide the maximum support to the
foster carers and dogs. This makes it easier for vet
appointments, open days etc and to allow carers to
attend meeting and workshops and get the support that
they need.
As a fosterer you will play an
extremely valuable role in reintegrating our dogs into
a normal loving family environment. In our experience
rescue dogs have a much smoother transition into their
permanent homes if they have received care and
rehabilitation from a committed foster home.
We
can supply fosterers with dog food, bedding, bowls
collars/leads etc etc and all vet treatments are
covered. Fourpaws fosterers are also covered by our
third party liability insurance (whilst the dog is on
a lead).
If you want to read more about
Fostering, you can find some of our
Foster Carers stories - straight from those who
dedicate there time to it!
Foster carers will receive the
support of a dedicated Foster Co-ordinator and there
is a secure foster carer chat section on our forum,
with Q & A section. We also hold foster carer
meetings/workshops. To apply to foster, please
complete our
Foster Carer Registration form.
